Anti-Terror Barriers - Edinburgh Council
Thames Valley, England
As Scotland’s Capital City, over a million tourists visit Edinburgh every year. Part of what attracts visitors are the high-profile public events regularly organised by the City of Edinburgh Council. The Story
Due to the amount of visitors, the Council’s expected to maintain a large security presence at each event. This includes the installation of anti-terror barriers to help prevent any casualties from potential terrorist attacks.
The City of Edinburgh Council contacted SWR as they required large assemblies for anti-terror barriers at a music festival. With the Council’s usual supplier unavailable and the festival just days away, SWR had a shorter-than-average deadline to fulfil the order request.
The Products
The Result
The Production Team created six 20mm wire rope assemblies with a rigging screw and shackle at the end. These were then shipped straight to Scotland for use at the Music Festival.
Unlike previous versions, the barriers were designed to blend in with the immediate location. Our assemblies were chosen for both their hard-wearing properties and subtle construction which could go largely unnoticed by attendees.
Overall, the City of Edinburgh Council were impressed with our ability to deliver high-quality assemblies to deadline and will use our services again for future events in the Capital.
